Why might I need facials?

Facials feel relaxing and indulgent on the skin, but they can also deep-cleanse and moisturize the skin to maintain your skin’s overall health.

You might choose to get a facial before a major life event, like a wedding or a date, to enhance your natural beauty and help you feel prepared to take on the day. Getting facials regularly may also minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, rehydrate and revive dull skin, and help manage acne breakouts.

What are the benefits of facials?

Facials can help rejuvenate your appearance by:

  • Boosting your production of collagen
  • Reducing acne and other skin imperfections
  • Nourishing skin cells
  • Clearing your pores
  • Removing any dead skin cells
  • Moisturizing dry skin

At New Leaf Adult & Women’s Health NP, PLLC, Enjoli can help you determine which type of facial is best for your skin care goals and how often you should get one to enhance your overall skin health.

What happens during a facial?

A facial takes less than an hour from start to finish. The specific details of your facial varies, depending on your particular aesthetic concerns.

Treatment begins with a deep, gentle cleansing of your skin. You’ll receive a facial massage to increase circulation and promote collagen production. Enjoli also performs extractions and purifies your pores. She finishes your facial by applying nourishing moisturizers and serums to hydrate your skin.

You might benefit by combining your facial with chemical peels to enhance your results. If you choose to have a chemical peel, Enjoli can provide a chemical peel in the same treatment session.

What are chemical peels?

A chemical peel is a skin resurfacing treatment that removes the top layers of skin with a chemical solution and reveals the fresh, younger-looking skin underneath. Chemical peels can treat skin imperfections and can be used on your face, as well as your hands, chest, or neck.

There are three depths of chemical peels which include light, medium, or deep. The deeper the chemical peel, the longer it takes for your skin to heal and recover.

At New Leaf Adult & Women’s Health, NP, PLLC, you might benefit from combining chemical peels with facials to achieve your skin care goals.

Who can benefit from chemical peels?

Chemical peels improve the appearance of your skin, especially if you have specific skin concerns that you’d like to target. You may benefit a chemical peel if you have:

  • Sun-damaged skin
  • Hyperpigmentation or melasma
  • Sagging skin
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Crow’s feet
  • Acne scars

At New Leaf Adult & Women’s Health NP, PLLC, Enjoli evaluates your complexion and helps you determine if a chemical peel is the right treatment for you.

What happens during a chemical peel?

When you come in for a chemical peel, Enjoli applies the type you choose to address your aesthetic concerns. You may experience some tingling and burning during the treatment, but the discomfort should be temporary.

You may notice the results after just one peel. However, depending on the chemical peel you choose and your skin concerns, you may need multiple peels. At New Leaf Adult & Women's Health, NP, PLLC, Enjoli can help you develop a treatment plan with the right number of visits to give you optimal results.

You’ll have a yellowish tinge on your skin for 2-3 hours following your peel. You may also have some mild redness, but this resolves in a short time.

Be sure to follow Enjoli’s after-care instructions to support your skin’s healing following the chemical peel treatment. It’s also important to wear sunscreen for several weeks as your skin is more sensitive to the sun.

Call New Leaf Adult & Women’s Health NP, PLLC, or book an appointment online today to find out how you can benefit from chemical peels.
